Join Me on My Journey: Octologs Beta is Almost Here
A Digital Dive Log Created From a Diver's Heart
Hi there, fellow dive enthusiast! 🤿
I'm Ben, and I can barely contain my excitement as I write this. After months of learning, coding, and testing (and yes, plenty of debugging), I'm finally ready to share something very close to my heart with you - the beta version of Octologs.
Why I Started This Journey
You know that feeling after an amazing dive when you want to capture every detail, every moment? I do too as you might know from my previous post. That's exactly why I started building Octologs. Not because I thought I could create the perfect dive logging app, but because I wanted to solve a problem that I faced as a diver myself.
What's Coming in the Beta?
I've kept things simple and focused on what matters most to us divers:
📱 The Essentials First
Easy dive logging (because who wants to spend hours on data entry?)
GPS dive site marking (as accurate as I could make it)
Space for your underwater photos (up to 10 per dive)
A Little Peek Behind the Scenes
Every feature in Octologs comes from real diving experiences and feedback from divers like you. Here's what I've been working on:
Making it work offline (because the best dive sites rarely have WiFi!)
Keeping the interface simple and intuitive
Ensuring your dive data is secure and private
Would You Like to Help?
I'm looking for fellow divers who'd like to test Octologs and help make it better. Your experience and feedback would mean the world to me. This isn't about creating just another app - it's about building something useful for our diving community, together.
What to Expect as a Beta Tester
Early access to Octologs
A simple, straightforward dive logging experience
The opportunity to shape the app's future
Direct communication with me (I read and respond to all feedback)
