Exploring Hidden Caves: My Underwater Adventure at Cala Murta
Discovering a Secret Air Chamber in Mallorca's Crystal Waters
As I descended into the crystal-clear waters of Cala Murta, Mallorca, I couldn't help but feel that familiar rush of excitement. The morning sun was already warming the air to a pleasant 27°C, promising perfect conditions for what would become one of my most memorable dives.
Equipped with my trusty 7mm wetsuit (yes, even in 25°C water - I like to stay cozy!) and my GoPro ready to capture every moment, I began my journey into the depths. The visibility was exceptional that day, making it perfect for documenting this adventure.
The main attraction at Cala Murta is Cave Luis Candela. But nature had an even better surprise in store for me: a resident moray eel, gracefully occupying its rocky home near the cave entrance, as if standing guard over the secrets within.
The cave itself was absolutely magnificent. As I carefully navigated through the entrance, I discovered something truly special - a natural air chamber within the cave. It was like finding an underwater cathedral, with a pocket of air creating an otherworldly atmosphere. Thanks to my safety buoy (always dive prepared!), I felt confident exploring this unique formation.
Over the 39-minute bottom time, I managed to capture some stunning footage with my GoPro. The play of light through the water, the moray eel's curious appearance, and the majestic cave chamber - all preserved in digital memory. I started the dive with a full tank and ended up using 150 bar, pretty efficient for such an exciting exploration!
Quick Stats:
Max Depth: 22m
Bottom Time: 39min
Air Consumption: 150 bar
Water Temp: 25°C
